I love the outdoors!   Who knew?

Jammer:  It was a beautiful day today, so Mom and Dad took Murray and me on a couple of long walks.  I loved it!  So many smells!   So many things to see!  Fun water to splash through!

The only thing I didn't like so much was when we ran into kids on the trail.  Kids scare me.  But Mom held me and we walked by them and they didn't hurt me after all.

Here's a picture of Mom, Murray and me on the trail.  Dad also took a picture of me separately because he thinks I'm a Good Looking Boy.

Murray:  I have to say, Jammer is getting to be fun to spend time with, now that he isn't quite as nervous.   I hope when he finds his Forever Home it isn't too far away so we can have play dates!  I guess he won't be meeting me at the dog park because he doesn't seem to like it there as much as I do.

I don't quite understand why Jammer is so afraid of kids.  Personally, I love them.  Their faces are right down here where I can lick them without having to jump up (Mom doesn't like when I do that).

He'll probably start to see kids the way I do pretty soon - it took him a while to think adults were OK too, and he still is nervous when they first come around.  I've told him Mom and Dad wouldn't let anyone hit him and it seems to be having an impact.

Meet and Greet

Jammer:  Mom and Dad took Murray and me to something called a "Meet and Greet" today at a big, bright place they call "PetSmart."  (How weird is that?  It's a good thing I'm smart, I guess!) All kinds of people were coming up to me and petting me.  I wanted to leave as soon as I got there.  I'm not used to that many people being nice to me, but it turned out to be OK after all.  Mom says I did very well.  She seemed really proud of me, telling everyone that I was a Good Boy and hadn't had any "Accidents" for several days now.  Anyway, PetSmart was kind of tiring for me, so I think now I'm going to crash for a while.  (Check out the picture Mom took of me crashing.)   See you later!

MurrayEven I have to admit that Jammer is pretty hilarious.  For some reason, he doesn't want to come upstairs to sleep with the rest of us, so he stays in his crate at night.  This morning, Daddy came downstairs and found a bunch of my Mom's, Dad's and Sister's shoes in Jammer's crate.  I guess he must not know the difference between shoes and a toy!  (Jammer, I mean, not Daddy.)  Mom says maybe Jammer likes the way they smell because he took them but didn't chew any of them up.  She was laughing.  I have a feeling it would have been a different story if he had actually eaten her shoes.

And wow, this boy does like to eat!  You'd think he'd never been fed before in his entire life or wouldn't ever be again.   Well... now that I think about it, I guess I kind of felt that way when I first got here myself.   He also gobbles his food down ridiculously fast.  Mom says I used to do that too and that he'll calm down when he realizes we aren't going to take his food away.  In the meantime, I hope he doesn't choke,   I'd hate to have to do the Heimlich maneuver on him.

Rough Day

Jammer:  I'm having some trouble getting used to being here.  On the one hand, my Foster Parents and Sister are really nice (although sometimes I forget how nice they are and I get scared they're going to hurt me, especially when they move fast).  I got to sleep with my Mom last night and she didn't seem to mind at all when I stretched out and took up most of the bed!  I even slept part of the night on her face!  It was very comfortable, although I'm not sure she liked it as much as I did.  And they feed me a lot of yummy food - more than I've ever had before.  A fellow could get fat around here!

On the other hand, there are all these weird and scary things.  Like Stairs.  My Mom wants me to go up them each night and down in the morning.  I don't like it.  She ended up carrying me down this morning, and I didn't like that too much either.  And there are all kinds of things that make noises in here, and I don't like that either.  And Murray - you never saw anyone overreact the way he does when I come anywhere near his "space!"   What a crank!

Murray:  Just try to steal my food again, Pup, and you'll see what a crank I can be when I really want to!

Jammer:  Anyway, sometimes it just seems safer to hang around in my crate.  It's comfortable and nothing bothers me in there.  And I can come out any time I want to check out things that are going on, so it works out pretty well.

By the way, the picture is of me getting some lovin' from my Sister.  She's really sweet.

Razor Jammer is Here!

Jammer:   Hi!   My name is Razor Jammer, and I'm in this new place.  It seems fine, with lots of places to sniff, good food, LOTS of treats and a nice, safe crate to come back to when it all gets to be a bit much.  My Foster Parents and Sister seem nice and give really good scratches.   Especially Dad.

It took me a few hours to get comfortable around my Foster Family, but I'm starting to think maybe I can trust them -- a few times I thought they were going to hit me, but it turns out all they wanted to do was pet me and scratch me behind the ears.   I've never gotten so many cuddles!   Come to think of it, I've never gotten any at all, and I could get used to this!  The Dogdude Murray, on the other hand, I'm not so sure about.  He keeps giving me the eye, and one time snapped at me when I wasn't doing anything but sniffing around.   Mom told him to chill, and I hope he listens to her.

I'm pretty tired, it's been a big day, even though I've only been here for a few hours.   More to come tomorrow!

Murray:   Here we go again.  Another pup, running around the house endlessly and then plopping down in my crate whenever he feels like it, without even asking.   So I lie down on the carpet in the living room to have a little peace, not even using one of my dog beds, and even that wasn't good enough for him - he had to come bother me there too!

The good news is, he's a handsome kid, so I know he won't last long here before someone comes along and takes him home with them.   Come soon, PLEASE!!!
